Privacy Policy

What we collect when you book a cab or send us a message, why we need it, who sees it and how to ask us to change or delete it.

This policy explains how Bangalore Taxi Service, 25, 2nd Cross St, Muniyappa Layout, Nagenahalli, Narayanapura, Bengaluru 560077, handles the personal data you give us. We collect only what we need to arrange your trip and reply to you.

What we collect

  • When you book: your name, mobile number, email address (optional), pickup and drop addresses, date and time, the car and trip you chose, and anything you add such as a flight number or notes for the driver.
  • When you send an enquiry: your name, phone number, email address (optional), subject and message.
  • With each booking or enquiry: the IP address and browser details of the device it was sent from, to help us spot spam and misuse.
  • Cookies: the website sets the cookies it needs to run its forms securely. We do not use advertising cookies.

Why we use it

  • To arrange your trip: confirm the booking, assign a driver and car, and send you the driver's details.
  • To contact you about the booking by call, WhatsApp, SMS or email, including changes and delays.
  • To work out the fare. Addresses typed into the booking box are sent to Google Maps to suggest places and measure the road distance.
  • To reply to your enquiry, keep our accounts and bills, and deal with any complaint or dispute.

Who sees it

  • Your driver: the driver assigned to your trip receives your name, mobile number, pickup and drop addresses and pickup time, so they can reach you.
  • Our office staff, who take and dispatch bookings.
  • Services we use to run the business: our web host, email provider, WhatsApp and SMS providers for messages, and Google Maps for addresses and distances. They handle the data to provide that service.
  • Authorities, where the law requires us to share it.

We do not sell your personal data.

Messages we send

We send messages about your booking: the booking request, its confirmation, the driver's details and any change. These go by email, and by WhatsApp or SMS where those are switched on for your booking. The office may also call or WhatsApp you to confirm the trip.

How long we keep it

We keep booking records for as long as we need them for the trip, our accounts and any legal requirement, and enquiries for as long as needed to answer and follow up. After that we delete the data or keep it in a form that no longer identifies you.

Your rights

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask us for a summary of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or complete it, ask us to erase it where we no longer need it, and raise a grievance with us. Some records, such as bills, may need to be kept for a time by law.
